MORUA ARTS PROJECT
(2020 - now)
𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐔𝐀 means “somewhere”, a symbol for the space-in-between, the space of experiments and processes. In January 2020, the independent, non-profit project MORUA ARTS PROJECT (MAP) was founded by artist, choreographer Ngo Thanh Phuong (she's also the choreographer of 'Tehdar', 'Palao'). MORUA ARTS PROJECT doesn’t want to focus on the final works. Instead, we are eager to create a focused space and time for art practitioners to develop new works. MORUA is a moveable playground for choreographers/ performance & performing artists to develop their interdisciplinary works as well as to share their own method of body & movement.
The first explosion of this art project is MORUA ARTS RESIDENCY - "MUARUA" an artist-in-residence program focusing on performing/performance art in Hoi An, Vietnam. 𝗠𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗨𝗔 (aka DANCE LIKE DAT? DANCE LIKE DAT) - the name we use for MORUA ARTS RESIDENCY - an artist-in-residence program organized by MORUA ARTS PROJECT. This project is incubated in Hoi An with the expectation of awakening the potentials of contemporary dance in Hoi An as well as developing Hip-Hop in this area with new methods of movement.
